Non profit

Vita’s new world

VITA non profit magazine changes style but its contents are still good, bold and beautiful

Content isn’t a product but a tool that fosters relationships; at least that’s the way we see things at Vita Non Profit Magazine, Italy’s leading third sector newspaper and vitarurope.org’s parent organisation.

We don’t write things because we want to sell what we write, although we need to sell to keep on doing what we do. We write because we believe that through our work, through the relationships our work creates we can change the world. And if the 16 years since we were founded are anything to go by we are not far off the mark.

But these 16 years have seen us grow to the point that we outgrew the pages of our newspaper, which suddenly started seeming too thin, too light, too dim to capture the richness of the experiences, people, events and movements we wanted to tell the world about. And so we have spent several months working hard to restyle our newspaper. To reorganise its pages, to add new sections and to make it more attractive, more readable and more fun.

Three is the perfect number…

And three are the sections of our new newspaper, which Italy will be judging tomorrow when the first copies will hit the newstands. The first is dedicated to current affairs, both national and international. The second is called “experiences” and focuses on telling the stories of those people who are living best practices, people who have contributed something special, something good, something new to the world and that makes it a better place. The third section is for “work in process” and is a look at all that needs to be done, all that still needs to be accomplished in the world. Here we hope to highlight the great potential that exists for the non profit, institutional and for profit worlds to work together on the great social projects of our future. Welfare, environment, development but also food, technology and transport.
