Looking to find out what the word on the block is? If you are young, bored and looking to be inspired then take a look at www.ondablock.co.uk. A webzine invented, set up and managed by young people aged 12 to 21 dedicated to promoting a positive vision of inner city youth.

Sensitive to the issues that concern young people growing up in central London today, Ondablock was launched in 2006 by a group of young inner city dwellers (in Westminister, Central London) who were fed up with not having anything to do in their spare time and who wanted to prove that you don?t have to be old to make a difference.

Over the past year Ondablock has gained recognition, winning an Innovation in the Community Award sponsored by telecommunications business Talk Talk and digital inclusion charity Citizens Online, and expanding its editorial team. Now about 30 youngsters work on the project, not just for themselves but also to communicate something to others. ?We have the freedom to express ourselves? says Ondablock?s lifestyle editor, Shade Tongo, who is 16, ?it?s the pride that keeps us going?.
