Post Office customers across the UK are being invited to donate unused foreign coins to raise money for Help the Hospices ? the national charity for the UK hospice movement.
Collection boxes for unused coins are now located in 600 selected Post Office branches. This is one of the latest initiatives between Help the Hospices and Royal Mail Group, which runs the Post Office. Working in partnership, the charity and the Group have raised £1.2million since March 2005.
John Howells, Head of Travel Services at the Post Office, says: ?Post Office branches have previously raised an astounding £40,000 ( 58,740 EUR) a year for charity through foreign coin collections. We are proud that so many of our people have got involved in our partnership with Help the Hospices. This initiative is another great way for our customers to take part as well?.
