UK: New team appointed to take forward Social Enterprise Network
West Midlands: new Development Directorate appointed to support stronger more visible and sustainable social enterprise sector
A new Development Directorate for the West Midlands Social Enterprise Network (WMSEN) in the UK has been appointed to deliver a range of key strategic functions which aim to support a stronger, more visible and sustainable social enterprise sector across the region.
WMSEN has secured funding from Advantage West Midlands, to resource an intensive programme of work including the development of an online discussion forum and a regional PR campaign to boost the profile of the sector. A key feature will be the launch of a £117,000 Regional Marketing Grants Fund ? Illuminate Social Enterprise. This will provide grants to partnerships and consortia will ideas to promote social enterprise amongst local communities and tap into the significant unrealised potential of this sector in the West Midlands.
In addition, WMSEN is earmarked to pilot the Social Enterprise ?Centre of Expertise? for the region.
