UK: New support fund launched
The Big Lottery Fund has launched a £155 million programme to fund support for the voluntary and community sector
The new programme, entitled BASIS (Building and Sustaining Infrastructure Services), aims to fund a more expert, consistently available and sustainable set of support services for front line voluntary and community organisations across England.
BASIS will offer grants between £10,001 and £500,000 until 2009 to voluntary and community organisations that support other organisations in the sector. This it to ensure that high-quality support is available so that voluntary and community organisations that can in turn benefit their service users.
The Big Lottery Fund was launched in 2004 to distribute funding raised from the sale of lottery tickets in the UK.
