UK: New co-op models for UK farmers
Five co-operative business models for the UK's farming community have been launched by the Plunkett Foundation - a charity that supports the development of rural group enterprise.
The business models, which include a model for producer-run farmers’ markets and a marketing co-operative for wood suppliers, have been developed so that they can be easily replicated in the agricultural sector to increase sustainability and profitability.
The models, complete with business plans, guidance on marketing, and five-year financial projections, are available to be downloaded for free at the project’s website.
