Social business research firm Catalyst has launched a website to link potential investors with social enterprises in need of capital.
The website, at www.social investments.com, explains social investment, provides a framework for categorising social enterprises and includes a glossary of terms. It also hosts a blog by Rodney Schwartz, chief executive of Catalyst.
"It was clear that this rapidly growing area of business was attracting more attention, but for the interested and socially concerned investor there was nowhere to go for practical information on the expanding opportunities available," said Schwartz.
"Such services are common in the mainstream investment community, but this is the first dedicated entirely to the social business sector."
