UK: Grants to support offender projects
The UK government has launched a grants scheme to support projects developed by voluntary and community organisations working with offenders and their families.
Funding of up to £500,000 (700,000 euro) is available The National Offender Management Service (NOMS), which is part of the UK Home Office. Organisation applying for grants are expected to obtain match funding of 50 per cent from other sources.
Also, any projects awarded funding must support the aims and objectives of NOMS which includes the rehabilitation of offenders.
Applications can be made from voluntary or community groups that are either a registered charity or not-for-profit organisations including social enterprises.
