UK: flying start for health enterprises
Planned for april 2007, the programme will assist new 40 potential health social enterprises
The Department for Health in the UK has launched The Flying Start Programme for Social Enterprises in Health (FSPSEH).
The 12-month programme will aim to help 40 potential health social enterprises become a reality. It is fully funded and free to anybody with an idea for a health social enterprise providing they hold a qualification from a UK university, college or institution.
Participants in the programme will take part in an initial three-day intensive session in Preston during April 2007, and will then receive ongoing assistance from a designated mentor for the rest of the year. The mentor team consists of seasoned entrepreneurs and business professionals that will help each participant develop their business skills and prepare for running a social enterprise.
