UK: Ethical investment site for charities
A website has been launched that helps charities make socially responsible investments

A website has been launched that helps charities make socially responsible investments, that is investments that take into account social, environmental and ethical issues, without stepping away from their mission. The website, aimed not just at charities but also their supporters and their fund managers, contains valuable information for charities of any size and involved in any issue area, from campaigning to religion that wish to invest their funds without compromising their values.
The project, that is funded by the Eiris Foundation, the Charities Aid Foundation and the Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation, aims to give non profit organisations the possibility of using all their resources to support their goals. ?A lot of charities are keen to make some kind of ethical investment, but sometimes implementing policies can be a lengthy process? said one of the project advisors, Sam Collins.
How will responsible investment affect financial returns? What is programme related or mission related investment? Which charities have responsible investment policies? You will find the answers to these and more questions as well as specific advice on where to go for further guidance on www.charitysri.org . The website also offers free publications and links to responsible investment networks and charities and a personalised counselling service.
