Ucraina: support for disabled people in Kharkiv

The Kyiv Regional Office of the Eurasia Foundation and Philip Morris Ukraine launched a new initiative to improve the live of disabled people

di Stefanie Schiffer

In March 2006 the Kyiv Regional Office of the Eurasia Foundation and Philip Morris Ukraine launched a new initiative to improve the live of disabled people in Kharkiv Oblast.

The initiative will provide services such as job placement and social advice for disabled and will improve the capacity of local private charities to better help their clients.

The Eurasia Foundation has announced a competition among Kharkiv-oblast charitable organizations to participate in this initiative.
The initiative is made possible thanks to a $100,000 contribution from Philip Morris Ukraine, an affiliate of Philip Morris International, and initiated through its parent company Altria Group, Inc. An additional $30,000 of USAID funding has been contributed through the Eurasia Foundation.
