The Call for ideas is open until the 31 of December 2012 for
Changemakers for EXPO 2015, a programme of acceleration of enterprise linked to the challenges of Expo 2015. The programme is aimed to find “10 ideas that can change the life of 10 million people”
The promoters-
Expo Milano, Telecom Italia,
Make a cube – are looking for
10 teams of youth under 30 with innovative and sustainable projects that use
technology to create a positive impact on the life of
10 million people.
Ideas have to be innovative as regards contents and processes, with a concrete and long period outcome, and also to be applied inside EXPO 2015, making it a more innovative, accessible and sustainable world expo. Ideas also have to make not only Milan, but also all other cities in the world, smarter, more livable, eco-friendly and supportive.
The themes that these innovators will have to deal with are some of the future’s most important challenges: mobility of people and things; smart city; healthy eating, safe and sufficient; conservation and productivity of natural resources; combating pollution; home automation and energy efficiency of buildings; wellness, prevention and treatment; hospitality management and tourism; safety of citizens and territory; education and training; hospitality management and tourism; conservation, enhancement and use of cultural heritage.
The 10 best selected teams will have a management mentoring: from March to April 2013, for 8 weeks, the candidates will be hosted for free of charge in Milan in a temporary campus where they will live together and work in close contact with each other, focusing on the development of their business idea. With the help of a team of 16 teachers and 50 mentors – experts, professionals, managers, designers of recognized competence – they will turn their business idea into a startup.
At the end of the acceleration period the most innovative and scalable solutions will be presented to an audience of potential investors and business partners able to ensure their full implementation.
