TransEuropaExpress 2012-Europe of young people

Ideas, projects, results

di Cristina Barbetta

The European cultural workshop TransEuropaExpress 2012, taking place in Rome on 2 and  3 April, is an annual appointment conceived and promoted by the Casa Delle Letterature of Rome’s Department for Cultural Policies, a cultural center specialized in Italian and foreign literatures of the twentieth century, and by the Representation of the European Commission in Italy.

The workshop will present some of the best ideas and projects of young people from different EU countries. The aim is to stimulate new generations, showing practical examples of enterprises developed on the basis of innovative ideas.

The speeches of the speakers will provide useful suggestions to encourage creativity and entrepreneurships, that are key to cope with the job market.

TransEuropaExpress is a meeting, this year at its seventh edition, where writers, philosophers, historians and intellectuals, coming from many EU countries, discuss on issues that are different every year, in an effort to illustrate and promote the complex European identity.

While the past editions of TransEuropaExpress focused on the cultural, historic, artistic and political elements that characterize the identity of the New Europe, this year’s edition fosters the meeting with young protagonists of European Union’s countries who acted locally but with a global approach in various areas, from culture to health, from creativity, to the social field,  to economy.
