What can crowdfunding actually fund? Charity projects, indipendent films and of course start ups, but anything else? What about science? Could it actually be an alternative to public funding cuts on research?
This is the challenge launched byRocketHub, a major crowdfunding platform which is now promoting the SciFund Challenge, through which research teams can post their projects and potential crowdfunders choose those they’d like to support.
Scientist from a wide variety of disciplines have signed on to raise money for their research and now forty-nine projects are taking part in the challenge which started on November 1 and will end on December 15.
