Another of the innovations of this card is that it is made with recyclable plastic without PVC. In addition, when a new customer buys a first article with it, Triodos Bank will plant a tree in a sustainably-managed forest which this organisation has in the mountains of Albacete. This card is accepted in more than 20 million shops and in more than 900.000 cash-dispensers all over the world.

The aim of Triodos Bank is to make a contribution from the financial system to a positive and sustainable change by respecting people, culture and the environment. With this in view, this organisation implements policies focused on sustainable investment or socially responsible measures and only invests in enterprises or initiatives which in addition to being economically profitable have an added cultural, social or environmental value. Since its foundation in 1980, Triodos Bank has supported initiatives, enterprises and institutions promoting the preservation of natural resources and creating innovative and realistic technological solutions. It also finances organisations active in the field of development aid and promotes fair trade and microloans as effective tools in the combat against poverty.

Triodos Bank is internally consistent with its respect for nature and only uses environmental-friendly materials and furniture. With regard to CO2 emissions, it is absolutely neutral as it reduces the impact of its activities on the environment by resorting to energy saving measures and the use of clean energies.
