Spain: Triodos Bank and Amnesty together for human rights

Triodos Bank launches 'Depósito Actúa', the first Spanish bank product linked to human rights

di Ges

Triodos Bank and Amnesty International have signed an agreement to launch the so called ?Depósito Actúa?, the first Spanish bank product linked to human rights whose aim is to promote responsible saving. For customers it should be important to know where their money is going and be aware that is not going to harm any one.

?Deposito Actúa? is an one-year fixed-term deposit with no bank commissions that does not require to move to another bank. During the first year, Triodos Bank will give 0.7% of each deposit to Amnesty International, which will devote this money to intensifying the defence of human rights all over the world.

This is the first time, also, that Amnesty International signs such an agreement, which is expected to attract an important number of customers, although its consolidation is clearly a long-term affair. The same as with ethical bank in Spain, which has still to mature.
