According to a study called Commitment to Development carried out by the North American Center for Global Development, Spain is the fifth developed country which least contributes to the development of third world countries. This report, which is published on an annual basis, includes the 21 richest countries in the world.
Spain, which is considered the eighth world economy, contributes more than Japan, Greece, Italy and France and much less that the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. This report is based on seven indicators: economic aid, commercial facilities, investment, migration policies, the environment, participation in peace missions and contribution to technological dissemination.
The report also states that Spain is negligent when dealing with corrupt practices of Spanish enterprises located in other countries.
