Spain: scientists at work to fight climate change

This project, which is jointly managed by the Catalan Government and the University of Barcelona, will start running this very year and will improve the current knowledge about the effects of climate change in the Mediterranean area. The project intends to lead climatic studies in this area and to become an international reference in subjects such as climatic theory and simulation of climatic change. The Institute will be advised by a committee of international experts who will validate and supervise its action lines. Its two key aims will be to improve the scientific knowledge about climate dynamics and to put forward strategies to counteract or minimise climatic change. www.ub.es www.gencat.cat
