The Report The Social Economy in the European Union committed by the European Economic and Social Committee reveals that paid employment in Social Economy in Spain represents 5.4% of the total paid employment of the country.
There are over 870,000 people working in the non profit sector, most of which are in cooperatives 488.606 and 380,000 in associations.
It places Spain in 5th position in the European rating, after Germany, France, United Kingdom and Italy, 2nd in employment created in cooperatives and 6th in employment created in associations. It places Spain in 5 European position.
