The Social Innovation Awards, presented byJustmeans, the world’s leading source of information and connections for people doing business better, recognize companies implementing groundbreaking strategies and programs that drive social and environmental innovation and responsibility into core business strategy.

They were launched in early 2009 to an overwhelming response from the business community.

Winners of the main categories will be selected by an independent panel of judges who are thought-leaders in the areas of corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and social innovation.

In addition to the awards judged by the panel, three award categories will be crowdsourced through a competition held on Facebook.com.

The deadline for applications is November 15th 2010, and the awards will be presented in London on March 1st at the 2011 Redefining Value: Integrated Reporting and Measuring Sustainability conference.

The newly expanded categories for the awards program are:

• Finance: Best Social Investment Strategy 

• Human Resources: Best Employee Engagement Strategy

• Marketing and Communications: Best Use of New Media

• Marketing and Communications: Best Integrated Report

• Marketing and Communications: Best Online Report

• Marketing and Communications: Best Stakeholder Engagement

• Operations: Best Sustainability Performance Award

• Product: Best Product Design

• Product: Best Incorporation of Ethical Sourcing/Certification

• Philanthropy: Most Strategic Use of Philanthropic Funds

• Worst Greenwasher 

• Most Influential Leader

• Best CSR Director Performance
