Social business leading summit

Global Social Business Summit, this year at its 4th edition

di Cristina Barbetta

From 8 to 10 November 2012 Vienna will be hosting the 4th Global Social Business Summit, the premier forum for the worldwide social business movement, bringing together social business pioneers, from corporate, civil society, academia and governments.

This year’s edition is titled “The power of innovation” and will  focus on the importance of innovation and technology to foster social development. Technologies can empower people to make their causes heard: this gives the opportunity to discover innovations that can solve any problem our societies are currently facing.

Through an intensive programme of talks, panels and workshops, the Summit is an occasion to reflect, foster, implement, make connections and be informed on social business worldwide.

The Global Social Business Summit was initiated in 2009 by Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and by the Grameen Creative Lab. After being held for 2 years in Germany,  with a participation of 350 guests, in 2011 the Summit moved to Vienna, where around 750 people came together.

As in  the previous editions, the Grameen family, and  Prof. Muhammad Yunus himself,  will attend the Summit , together with many international social business entrepreneurs.
