Russia: new NGOs law comes into force

In April the administrative regulations concerning the new Russian NGO legislation have been published. All over Russia NGOs have to be prepared to become familiar with the new law and to adopt their statutes and registration files accordingly. In St.Petersburg, Moscow and in the regional centres conferences and information seminars are prepared to be held on this issue. In April 2006, IREX Moscow hold the third All-Russian Symposium on NGOs Regulation, an event that brought together over 80 of the leading regional and national lawyers specializing in NGOs regulation to establish a strategic plan for improving Third Sector advocacy efforts as well as develop tools to help domestic and international organizations navigate the new regulations.
