Russia: 2006 declared year of philanthropy
The initiators declare that the idea is to involve Russian citizens in philanthropic activities
A consortium consisting of WWF, the Russian Charities Aid Foundation, the Dynasty Foundation, the Russian branch of the International Association on Business Communication (IABC) and ACOS-ICCO Russia have started an initiative to declare the year 2006 in Russia to be the “Year of Philanthropy?.
Among the activities which will take place all over Russia there will be discussions, experts meetings and several regional competitions on best practice in PPP, social volunteering and social partnership. The initiators declare that the idea is to involve Russian citizens in philanthropic activities in Russia and to contribute to the setting up of a supportive surroundings for the develoment of philanthropy in Russia. Therefore the initiative is open for everybody interested in ist aims and activities.
In autumn 2006 a final event in Moscow will nominate the winners of the several competitions and will publicly present the results of the action.
