Pop Tech and The
Rockefeller Foundation announce the call for nominations for a unique joint Fellows program that brings together small, interdisciplinary groups of five to six hand-selected designers, economists, technologists, artists and social innovators for a two-week immersion at The Rockefeller Foundation’s renowned
Bellagio Center on the shores of Lake Como, Italy.
The Bellagio/Pop Tech Fellows Program, this year at its second edition, is designed to be a unique incubator of unconventional, cross disciplinary collaboration around critical topics relevant to the lives of poor and vulnerable populations, and also serves as a laboratory for the study of the nature of collaboration itself as a profound tool for creative problem-solving and solution development.
The second year of the Bellagio/Pop Tech Fellows program is focused on reinventing and democratizing livelihoods. The Fellows will explore how global economies are changing, the potential benefits of moving from big manufacturing to a distributed model, the opportunities unlocked by the emergence of sharing economies and how to ensure citizens are well prepared to participate in these ever-changing economies.
The 2014 program will take place from the 18th to the 29th of August, and will be followed by a short presentation at the Pop Tech conference in Camden, Maine, from the 23rd to the 25th of October, 2014.
Fellows receive travel, lodging and facilitated support on-site as they work together to imagine new approaches to complex challenges.
