Macedonia: paid workforce

di Staff

According to the 2005 Report by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation, the total number of employees is somewhere between 550 and 1,500 (a mean value of around 1,000 employees) in the civil society sector; the number of part-time employees fluctuates instead approximately from 400 to 800 people annually. That is, according to the same Report, that every fourth CSO has an employee (2003 data). Out of these organizations which have employees, the most dominant are organisations with 1 to 5 employees (157 units, or 18.30%). Only 5 organisations in the complete sector have more than 20 employees.
