LATVIA: water supply and sewage services in Karosta will be improved
Between the Ministry of the Environment and joint stock company UPB was signed construction works agreement Reconstruction of water supply and sewage systems in Karosta.
In the Ministry of the Environment in the framework of European Union (EU) Cohesion Fund project ?Development of water management in Liepja, 2nd stage? between the Ministry of the Environment and joint stock company ?UPB? was signed construction works agreement ?Reconstruction of water supply and sewage systems in Karosta.?
Implementation of EU Cohesion fund co-financed project ?Development of water management in Liepja, 2nd stage? will allow provision of Liepja inhabitants with drinking water that complies with legislation and standards of Latvia and more and more inhabitants of Liepja will be able to receive centralized drinking water and sewerage services. This Project help to eliminate economical and social differences among EU citizens.
Total agreement expenses with VAT is 4 653 554,20 EUR, EU Cohesion Fund co-financing for project ?Development of water management in Liepja, 2nd stage? is 85%, beneficiary is LTD ?Liepjas dens?. In the framework of agreement will be implemented construction of new pumping station in Atmoda Boulevard; construction of sewage pressure main in L?bie?u street from new pumping station to 14th November Boulevard; reconstruction and construction of water supply and sewage nets in several streets around, construction of sewage nets; construction of sewage nets, connections and contruction of new sewage pumping station and construction of nets in all linking streets.
