State Children Rights Protection Inspectorate (SCRPI) calls portals to engage in campaign for safe internet environment for children, in which teenagers and parents will be informed how to identify potential oppressor. Inspectorate encourages portals to put in web page www.bti.gov.lv three suggestion lists: ?10 signs how to identify potential oppressor?, ?10 suggestions for your safe and open chat ? and ?For parents ? 10 suggestions for safe and open chat for your children?. There are listed behavior peculiarities of possible oppressors as well as suggestions how teenagers could protect themselves and for parents ? how to protect children from meeting the threat in virtual environment. Inspectorate stresses that suggestions have been made building on foreign experience and on consultations of Inspectorate psychologists. Thus in advice is included qualitative and in work gained knowledge. It is expected that in nearest months will begin social campaign on internet security organized by the Ministry for Children and Family Affairs. Center against abuse ?Dardedze? and portal ?Draugiem.lv? will also inform children about danger in internet. Children?s safety in virtual environment became actual in November. Then in experiment carried out by media and in following discussions was discovered that children in internet are unprotected and they do not know how to protect themselves and what to do in the cases of threat.
