di Redazione

The Registro della Solidarietà (Register of Solidarity) of the Municipality of Rome, called RES, acronym for ?Romani e Solidali? (?Roman and Supportive?), has been presented on February 14th 2006 in Rome by the Mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni. The aim is to gather all those citizens, group and enterprises that want to put their ability and professionalism at disposal of people in need. Every kind of competence is suitable to join in the Register: being able to teach, knowing languages, computer languages, cooking, driving, being a doctor. Veltroni recalls that Res is the symbol of a city that has always been supportive. In fact in four years, from 2001 to 2005, 100 thousand more citizens have been helped by Rome social services. www.resroma.it
