Italy: first bioplastic plant to open in Umbria

The first bio-refinery in Italy will be operative by 2007 in Terni. It will be managed by Novamount and will produce Mater-Bi and Origo-Bi bio-plastics. In the new manufacturing plant local agricultural resources will be used, such as corn starch and vegetable oils, thanks to the creation of a equitable company that will incorporate a cooperative of 600 agricultural entrepreneurs that adhere to Coldiretti (the most important agricultural organisation in Italy).
