HUNGARY: Student diary for secondary students
A European student diary aimed at students aged 14-18 has been published for the beginning of the school year
The 240 page booklet contains general information on EU institutions, EU history, youth initiatives and learning opportunities under European Union supported programmes. It includes a short dictionary of EU jargon, explains the decision-making process in the EU, and contains up-to-date statistical data on the 25 member states. The foundation issuing the diary has started a competition where interested students can write the content of one of the pages of the 2007/2008 edition. The winner, accompanied by his/her teacher will travel to Brussels on a study trip in 2007.
40,000 copies have been issued and the diary is used by approximately 8 per cent of Hungarian secondary school population.
