Food, sweets, clothing and much more. These are the gifts that are collected every year through the Help Children Through the Winter charity campaign by Polskie Radio and TVP public television. The aim? Reaching children from poor families in orphanages, recreation centres and educational institutes. No money is excepted by the organisers, only gifts.
The campaign started yesterday in Warsaw, where over twenty collections points started operating – identifiable by a van with the yellow smiley logo.
The collection is held under the patronage of President of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz – Waltz.
This is the seventeenth year of the Help Kids Through Winter campaign and was first initiated by Radio Lublin in south east Poland. Last year, 22,000 families and 133 children’s homes, clubs and educational centres received help from the charity action.
