What does “aftershok” means exactly? And “CNN Factor” and “DLI, development though local integration”? ReliefWeb, the global hub for time-critical humanitarian information on Complex Emergencies and Natural Disasters administered by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), explains them in the first Global Humanitarian Glossary.
The Glossary contains 59 pages of terms and definitions compiled from existing glossaries and other reference material with a focus on their common usage and understanding within humanitarian context, particularly as relating to natural disasters.
