GERMANY: Baltic sea NGO forum to be held in Stockholm 5th-7th October
Human Rights and democratic participation will be the overall theme of the yearly Baltic Sea NGO Forum which will be held in Sweden this year
The Forum serves as a meeting point for NGOs from 11 countries – members of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS). It intends to offer an opportunity for dialogue between NGOs, governments and public authorities on future perspectives of co-operation with the final aim of becoming a strong and relevant partner to CBSS, other BS institutions and an important actor in the implementing process of the EU programs. The Forum contributes to the development of the Baltic Sea NGO Network and strengthening the civil society of the Baltic Sea neighbour countries. Topics to be discussed in the Forum are: civil security and legislation, trafficking, violence against women and children, criminality and drugs as an obstacle to development, social inclusion and discrimination and the environment and sustainability. The conference will be held in English.
