UEIA, the first European accelerator for technology-based social enterprises, has just opened its II Edition.
The programme  lasts 6 months, and includes personalized  training and advice from experts from different  fields who support UEIA.
This pioneering accelerator aims to promote entrepreneurship, social innovation and technology as a platform for new social projects aiming to become sustainable businesses.
Applications are open until the 3rd of November 2013
The call is addressed to social entrepreneurs and NGOS who want to help alleviate social problems  through sustainable business models that create long-term social impact.
During UEIA’s first edition 9 technological projects with social impact concluded their training and acceleration process. Among them Afables,  the first social  recommender for home care assistance. It is a web platform that puts in contact home care professionals with the people who need them the most (not only elderly people, but also people living in temporary or permanent dependence)in a market that usually works in a word-of-mouth basis.
UEIA’s founding team is made of a group of professionals  based in Madrid who are passionate about   entrepreneurship and social action and have decided to apply their experience to NGOs, accelerators, investment funds, entrepreneurial training and cooperation.
