Coming up next week on the
15th of May in Lund, Sweden, the
European Social Business Forum 2014 brings together social business experts and practitioners, academics, policy makers and social investors.
The Forum is organized by the
Grameen Creative Lab, a social business co-founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus with the aim of spreading social business throughout Europe and the world, and by Lund University and Creative Lund.
The goal of the European Social Business Forum is to foster discussions and collaborations on the social business ecosystem in Europe and issues related to the specific context of the different European countries.
Over the last years social business has become a recognized business model in Europe and is at the core of the European Union’s economic strategy. Social business aims to create sustainable solutions to address economic and social problems both locally and internationally.
Building on a successful first European Social Business Forum in 2013, this year’s forum features a diverse program offering plenty of opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas and further develop the social business movement in Europe.
In this context Professor Yunus will also give a public speech in Malmö, on the Friday following the European Social Business Forum. Prof. Yunus will speak about the social business idea and how it can be implemented in countries like Sweden.
