EU: a new European network Think&Act
It responds to the need to articulate better EC research results and local, regional and national policies in the field of social sciences and humanities
di Zesst
To enable a better integration of social innovation into public policies, a major new EU research-led network, called Think&Act, is organizing a series of conferences in five main European cities. Some 1250 actors from the world of research, media and civil society will participate in the debates to define a set of recommendations addressing policy makers. Started in Paris on last January, the cycle of international conferences is scheduled in Rome (March 2007), in Budapest (June 2007), in Madrid (October 2007) and in Istanbul (March 2008).
Each conference will examine one of the 13 major themes of the Citizens as a priority in EC Research Programme to disseminate EC-funded research results as widely as possible. A series of books will be published to support communication.
The overall objective of Think&Act tries to fill the gap between researchers and practioners, that is huge and impedes experimentation and social innovation to be taken seriously within public policies at whatever level of implementation.
Vita Europe would be pleased to be invited as a lead non profit media at the next Rome meeting.
