Ashoka Changemakers and General Electric have launched a  Social innovation competition to bring economic opportunities for women in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), strengthen their families and communities, and enable them to benefit equitably from economic growth.
Women Powering Work: Innovations for Economic Equality in the MENA Region online competition, is offering three prizes, each of $25,000, to the most innovative solutions. It is possible to enter ideas or nominate a leading social innovator until the 6th of November 2013
Tomorrow, October 22, from 3pm to 5pm EET, Cairo Time (9am to 11am EST),  a special Twitter Chat (#SocEntChat) will announce the Early Entry Prize winners. Participating to the discussion will also be an opportunity to debate some of the key innovation trends from the competition and speak with high level social innovators.  #SocEntChats is a Twitter-based real-time discussion on social entrepreneurship themed around specific issues, areas and events each month. It is designed for current and aspiring social entrepreneurs, funders, media and supporters to share their ideas, discuss the state of the field, identify the latest innovations and pinpoint areas requiring more exploration.
