Coolio “the polar bear” campaigns to save water

Coolio and Terry Christian star in students' water-saving film

di Olivia McConhay

Shot by student film-makers for the Environment Agency’s short film competition Tomorrow’s World, this video combines voiceovers by Coolio and Terry Christian with CGI and a Daft Punk soundtrack to raise awareness on water conservation.

Coolio stars as a water wasting polar bear whose daily routine includes turning on an awful lot of taps and eating “salmon flakes”, as well as break dancing rather well.

His flatmate, a bi-polar (hint hint) penguin tells him what’s what by correcting his habits and lecturing him on the need to be kind to our planet and its resources.  To which Coolio-the-polar-bear responds by apologising and putting on a rather cool pair of sunglasses.

The video ends with Coolio’s voice saying:

“Climate change is an inescapable fact.  Floods, droughts and extreme weather patterns are the results.  Tomorrow’s world.  What are you going to do today?”
