The Change Makers is a celebration of individuals who have made a difference- inspirational social entrepreneurs who have found innovative and enterprising solutions that over the last 5 years have had a positive social impact in the community or society.
The competition aims to inspire people across the country to do something brilliant and to spark social change.
The winner of the competition will receive national coverage in The Sunday Times, Britain’s biggest-selling Sunday newspaper, and will be profiled globally through participating Impact Journalism Day newspapers in 40 countries around the world. The prize also includes professional communication support from The Sunday Times and Media Trust, £1,000 cash to put forward the innovative ideas and national television profiling on Community Channel, which is broadcast into 26 million UK homes.
The Change Makers competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over. The innovative idea must have had a measurable positive social impact, must be replicable and must still be used today. Individuals can nominate themselves or nominate an eligible individual.
Applications deadline is August 25 and the winner will be announced on 14 September 2014.
