The second day covers the more theoretical basis that underpins SROI, together with an exploration of issues that practitioners will need to demonstrate an understanding of if they wish to become accredited. All training is delivered by SROI Network accredited practitioners and is suitable for any experience level

The Entrepreneurship Summer School therefore aims at inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs to build their own ventures. International Youth Day
The theme of International Youth Day 2014 is “Youth and Mental Health” under the slogan ‘Mental Health Matters’. Youth with mental health conditions can often experience stigma and discrimination, which in turn can lead to exclusion and/or discourage people from seeking help for fear of being negatively ‘labelled’. Efforts are needed to overcome this stigma to ensure that young people with mental health conditions can lead full and healthy lives free of isolation and unnecessary shame, and that they openly seek the services and support they need.
UN DESA, through the Focal Point on Youth, and the Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development, promotes a multi-dimensional approach to addressing the challenges faced by young people with mental health issues, including tackling stigma and promoting social inclusion to enable all young people to achieve their aspirations and goals.
International Youth Day will take place in the ECOSOC Chamber, UNHQ, from 10am-1pm on 12 August. The IYD event is being co-organized by UN DESA’s Division for Social Policy and Development and the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth. It will bring together young people, youth organizations, Member State representatives, civil society, and UN entities to discuss the issue of youth and mental-health in particular looking at issues such as the impact of stigma, discrimination and exclusion, on the local, country, and international levels.

Measuring social impact (Two day masterclass)
Funders are constantly looking for 'track record' and evidence of impact, but what do you need to do to measure your social impact and what indicators do you need to put in place before you do so?
The SSE and nef consulting have partnered to offer a two day course giving you the knowledge and tools that you need to measure your organization’s social impact.
As well as making your organization more attractive to funders, being able to measure your social impact will enable you to measure the effectiveness of your organization, to benchmark with your competition and allow you to see where improvements can be made.

Futureperfect Festival
The fourth annual Futureperfect Festival takes place 14-17 August, on the island of Grinda, in the Stockholm archipelago, Sweden. For professionals and public, young and old, individuals and groups –  it’s a celebration of potential and practical change. The main theme of Futureperfect 2014 is: REDEFINITION. Who And What is Leading Change Today?
Futureperfect Festival is a series of conversations, experiences, explorations and imaginations around themes from modern society – considered with a view to how good living, individually and socially, is equivalent to sustainability. The main themes are: cities – architecture, urbanism, infrastructure; technology – information, internet, lifestyle; food – gastronomy, farming, health, nature; culture – creativity, storytelling, meaning, play; finance – capitalism, markets, justice, money. Futureperfect Festival is for everyone who is curious about how the world is changing, who wants to be part of positive change – as an individual, a professional or an organization – and who wants to engage in a new, inspiring, connected way.

28 August- 4 September 2014, Poland
Active Youth for Active Europe
Active Youth for Active Europe is an eight-day training course dedicated to people working with youth. The course will be held from 28 August to 4 September 2014, in the village of Kopaniec, near Jelenia Gora (Poland) and under the new Erasmus+ funding rules, you could have 100% of your travel costs reimbursed!  The project is open to 30 participants from ten programme countries: Malta, Italy, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Croatia, Macedonia, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Romania and Poland. The programme will address the topic of unemployment, which has become an extremely dangerous social problem, destructing the social tissue, the economic and social security systems and the mental health of young people, who encounter impassable barriers to find employment. This problem is especially present among certain groups of young people: minorities, certain ethnic groups, people from poor areas or coming from disadvantaged families, less educated youths or young people with various disabilities. Exclusion from the labour market often leads to marginalisation and exclusion from participation in the wider society. Special emphasis should be put on working with young people from groups that are in a particularly difficult situation in the labour market. Activities in the project will help youth workers to gain and deepen their knowledge and exchange good practices.
