Istanbul is 2010 European capital of culture. This is promising news for non-governmental organizations active in the area of culture and arts who demonstrate Istanbul’s cultural legacy and capacity? Why? Well there is over one and a half million Euros which has been allocated by the European Commission for such projects. This with the aim of contributing to the “Civil Society Dialogue” between Turkey and the European Union.
