A major piece of
research has been commissioned by the
BIG Lottery Fund to map and measure social enterprises in Scotland. Ekos Ltd. will conduct this research into third sector organizations that are actively trading and delivering contracted services in local authority areas in Scotland.
There has been some significant work done at local level in terms of mapping but this is the first Scotland-wide research, with all social enterprises across the country having the opportunity to take part.
The researchers are now at the stage where they need information from the source and they are asking for organizations to fill in an
online questionnaire. The closing date for completing the survey is the
22nd of November.
Social Enterprise Scotland, the industry body that unites social enterprises and their supporters into a strong campaigning force, support any work aiming at quantifying the scale and scope of their community. They therefore ask all social enterprises in Scotland to participate to the survey.
The research will help the BIG Lottery Fund gather information that will help them make better decisions on how to support this sector in the future. BIG also plans to make this information publicly available for others to use.
