As of 2016 Paris will house
the largest digital business incubator in the world. It is called
1000startups and will be based at
La Halle Freyssinet, an old shipping and freight centre in Paris 13th arrondissement, and one of the emblems of France’s industrial heritage.
1000 innovative start-ups from all sectors of industry will be hosted in this new incubator, which will be the largest in the world.
Start-ups will have access to a unique working space of 30,000 m2 in order to turn their projects into innovative enterprises.
In addition to housing the business incubator, the new Halle Freyssinet facility (rehabilitation works will start in June 2014 and have been entrusted to architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte) will provide co working spaces, a fabrication laboratory (fab lab) and exhibition spaces where firms can showcase their achievements.
The goal of this venture, which is the first of its kind in the world, is to support the development of a new generation of enterprises that will be the success stories of the future and which France needs to grow its international presence and strengthen its competitiveness.
1000startups will encourage the development of a whole digital ecosystem by facilitating the sharing of experience and knowledge.
