Last week, members of the European Parliament underlined their support for the poverty reduction target as proposed by the Commission in the Europe 2020 strategy. The resolution adopted by Employment and Social Affairs Committee on April 28 calls on member states to back the Commission proposal of a 25% reduction in the number of Europeans living below the national poverty lines.
