Do you think companies acknowledge the importance of volunteering?
Volunteers show that they are interested in social development, which is perceived by companies as very positive. Moreover most companies are aware of Corporate Social Responsibility measures and they endorse volunteering as one of these measures.
How can companies promote volunteering?
By evaluating the employees, who practice these activities, positively. Their volunteering experience becomes a precious resource when companies launch their CSR activities, because they are particularly aware of social issues and they can really help their companies develop CSR projects.
What kind of experience do you have volunteering?
When I was a student I volunteered for different NGOs in various fields, such as the environment and children’s education. Through volunteering I gained team working and organizational skills. My experience as a volunteer made an important contribution to my professional career.
What makes you so passionate about volunteering?
In Bulgaria volunteering is part of our cultural identity and it’s part of our value system, besides there is nothing better than doing something good for someone else.
