Berlin prides itself on being in the vanguard of a number of trends. One of them is “urban farming”: producing foodstuffs within cities, rather than carting them in from far away. And tiny urban gardens are indeed everywhere in Berlin. But now, Berlin’s senate is threatening to level many of them to make way for new construction.
