The HPI is an alternative way of looking at countries’ “wealth” that seeks to replace the traditional GDP. It ranks countries in the world according to new criteria: well-being, how people feel, health and the impact societies are having on the planet. Results are surprising. While Costa Rica comes first, European countries are far behind.
