Recession is hitting the old continent hard, grim figures show. A report published by Eurostat last week found that Europe’s recession was far worse than that of the US. Extraordinary figures found Germany, Italy and France as presenting the most depressing figures. Indeed while the Americans saw their GDP reduced by 2.6% between 2008 and 2009’s first terms, the Euro Zone saw it reduced by 4.6% in the same time frame. ec.europa.eu/eurostat
