Individual giving

The Swedish Fundraising Council says that on average each household gives to social causes about 150 € per annum. About 65% of grown-up Swedes donate to non-profit causes during a year.
Non profit organisations that receive more money from private giving are: Swedish Cancer Society, Red Cross, Save the Children, Plan Sweden, SOS Children’s Villages, Unicef Sweden and Church of Sweden. The majority of donors are female, 7 out of 10. Donors profile varies, depending on organisations, i.e. Amnesty International and Greenpeace have young donors (around 30), Plan and SOS young families with children, Red Cross and Church donors 50+.
