Crisis for biodiversity

di Redazione

A conference organised in Athens on 27 and 28 April, brought together policymakers and experts to explore future priorities and options for EU biodiversity policy. A report is set to follow next month from the European Environment Agency (EEA), sounding the alarm that most species and habitats across the continent are in poor condition and the risk of extinction continues to rise. Europe has been accused by the Agency to clear forests, plough fields and build cities all too often at the expense of natural ecosystems.
